How this data got here

Every figure on this site comes from a document a government published. This page lists each one, what was taken from it, and how to check the work.

What we do to the numbers

• We copy them. Figures appear as the source printed them.
• We check our copying. Budget tables print their own totals. The rows we extract must add up to that printed total, column by column. If they do not, nothing is published at all - there is no "close enough".
• We do arithmetic, and we say so. Shares, differences and percentages are calculated here and labelled where they appear.
• We never estimate, project, adjust for inflation, or fill a gap. If the source did not publish a number, this site does not have it.
• We never mix kinds of figure. A plan, an amended plan, a projection and a final outcome are four different numbers. They are never added together, and never compared against each other.

What is not here yet

Only the General Fund summary tables have been extracted. The per-department detail pages of the budget document have not been, so this site cannot yet show individual line items within a department.
